RESALE PRICE MAINTENANCE

33. Does an enterprise violate the Fair Trade Law by putting price tags on products?
A33: Article 18 of this Law aims to regulate resale price agreements between enterprises and their trading counterparts. If a manufacturer affixes “fixed price” or “dollar amount” tags on products it sells to a retailer, but the manufacturer or wholesaler do not enter into any agreement with the downstream retailer on specific selling price or on refraining from providing discounts, the mere affixing of such tags should not constitute a violation of this Law.
