August, 2014 [Merger notifications or concerted action applications]

1. Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp. and 12 other domestic shipping companies applied viathe Association of Shipping Services, ROC for an extension of their joint operation to transport imported supplies for government agencies and public enterprises. According to the proviso set forth in Subparagraph 5 of Article 14 (1) and Article 15 (1) and (2) of the Fair Trade Act, the FTC approved the joint operation to be extended to Sep. 28, 2017 with conditions attached.
2. EPISTAR Corporation and Formosa Epitaxy Incorporation filed a merger notification regarding their intention to merge. According to Article 12 (1) of the Fair Trade Act, the FTC did not prohibit the merger.
