The claim was a false and misleading representation with regard to quality of product and could also affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$80,000 on the company.
- J'Core International Co., Ltd., a multi-level marketing business, adopted illegitimate means to impede participants from returning goods in accordance with the Multi-level Marketing Supervision Act. The practice was in violation of Article 23 (1) of the Multi-level Marketing Supervision Act. In addition to ordering the company to immediately cease the unlawful act, the FTC also imposed on it an administrative fine of NT$300,000.
- Ming Jin Enterprise Co., Ltd. printed on its L-shaped file holders and also posted on the company website the wording "over 18 years of professional experience in handling insurance claims" and "19 years of professional experience in insurance claim processing." The claim was a false and misleading representation with regard to quality of service and could also affect transaction decisions. It was in violation of Paragraph 4 of Article 21 of the Fair Trade Act and Paragraph 1 of the same article was applicable mutatis mutandis. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$100,000 on the company.
- When marketing a WATO fat-burning belt on enjoy-thelife.com, Rich Bear Marketing Co., Ltd. Claimed that "the wearer will perspire six times the normal amount of sweat," "the effect of jogging five minutes equals the result of jogging for thirty minutes without wearing the belt" and "burning of waist fat will be accelerated." The wording was a false and misleading representation with regard to quality of product and could also affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$200,000 on the company.
- When marketing the "Kingdom Group Yangde Boulevard" housing project located in Nantun District, Taichung City, Guobin (transliteration) Construction Co., Ltd. and Xinqun (transliteration) Advertising Co., Ltd. marked the landing areas on the rooftop first and second levels as the space for a study, a meeting room, a music room and a painting room on the layouts of A8, A9, A17, A18. A26 and A27 and the floor plan of A6. The practice was a false and misleading representation with regard to content and use of product and could also affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed administrative fines of NT$1.2 million and NT$1 million on the two companies, respectively.
- Vorwerk Kobold Taiwan posted on LINE advertising leaflets the text "the clean air delivery rates of Aura/Hera/Ventus air purifiers achieving over 765, the highest of all," "Aura air purifiers able to filter 99.9% of PM2.5," "awarded the Energy Label by the Ministry of Economic Affairs," and "used by the most physicians (by more than 500 hospitals and clinics in Kaohsiung and Tainan) and given the highest ratings; other users include Tainan Municipal Hospital, the Tainan Public Library, National Cheng Kung University, Taoyuan General Hospital and quarantine hotels." The company also displayed on its website the wording "Aura air purifiers passed PM2.5/formaldehyde removal/bacterial inhibition tests conducted by SGS" and a film claiming that the machines had been certified by SGS as being able to remove more than 99.9% of bacteria within five minutes. Furthermore, Vorwerk Kobold Taiwan uploaded to YouTube a film indicating that Aura air purifiers had been certified by SGS as capable of removing 99.7% of formaldehyde. The practice was a false and misleading representation with regard to quality of product and could also affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$800,000 on the company.
- When marketing the Xinfu Xinliuyi (transliteration) housing project, Xinfu (transliteration) Development Co., Ltd. displayed a mezzanine design in the model home on the second floor. - When marketing the Tokuyo SS-Beauty TC-679 massage chair on the PChome24h shopping website, PChome Online Inc. and Anlee International Co., Ltd. claimed that the five-year warranty on the leather was the only one in the industry. It was a false and misleading representation with regard to quality of product and could also affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$100,000 on each company.
- An individual surnamed Zhang marketed a "twist plate alatolahraga" product on shopee.com and advertised the product as having the effect of reducing and burning fat. The claim was a false and misleading representation with regard to quality of product and could also affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$50,000 on Zhang.
- When marketing on pure17go.com "the latest and upgraded Australian YPL micro-pressure leg-shaping cat walk-style pants, made by the original manufacturer using black technology and sold by the Taiwan agent, Taiwan Television Technology Co., Ltd. and Eternity Fortune Co. posted the text "the fat-burning effect increased by 500%" and "using vegetal essence to burn fat—deep nano-infiltration to increase fat burning by 1,000%." The claim was a false and misleading representation with regard to quality of product and could also affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$80,000 on each company.
