Taoyuan City Association of Security Companies violated Article 15 (1) of the Fair Trade Act by restricting security companies from deciding their price quotations for security guard services. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$400,000 on the association.

Senao International Co., Ltd. claimed the product “Whirlpool 10L energy-saving dehumidifier WDEE20W” had passed the “National Level-1 Energy Performance Standard Certification” and had been rated as having “Level-1 Energy Efficiency” in an advertisement posted on its website and in its retail outlets. The wording was a false and misleading representation with regard to quality of product affecting transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$100,000 on the company.

Taiwan Regl Co., Ltd. posted on its website the wording “25cm—the thickest cold foam in the industry” and also indicated on the website and in its catalog that the bed used a “motor authorized by the original maker in Germany” when marketing the “RG-375 electric bed.” The practice was a false and misleading representation with regard to quality of product affecting transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$50,000 on the company.

Ease Sleep Co., Ltd. posted on its website the claim “25cm—the thickest cold foam in the industry” and also indicated in its catalog that the bed used a “high-quality wireless boat-shaped motor authorized by the original maker in Germany” when marketing the “RG-375 electric bed.” The practice was a false and misleading representation with regard to quality of product affecting transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$50,000 on the company.

Shun Xing Technology Co., Ltd., a multi-level marketing business, violated Article 7 (1) of the Multi-level Marketing Supervision Act by changing its office location without filing with the FTC in advance. The FTC ordered the company to file the office location change within 10 days after receiving the disposition and also imposed on it an administrative fine of NT$50,000.

Yujie Co., Ltd. claimed on Facebook that the company’s Bluetooth earphone products had been awarded trademark rights and patents. The wording was a false and misleading representation with regard to quality of product affecting transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$50,000 on the company.
