1. Macu Tea Shop Co., Ltd. violated Article 25 of the Fair Trade Act by not fully disclosing important franchise information in written documents or through electronic media before contract signature when recruiting franchisees for the Macu Tea Shop Chain. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$100,000 on the company.
2. When marketing an air fryer on the momo shopping website, Fubon Multimedia Technology Co., Ltd. and IB Co., Ltd. posted an advertisement claiming the product was “the only one in Taiwan having been certified by BSMI.” The wording was a false and misleading representation with regard to quality of product and could also affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$50,000 on each company.
3. PX Mart Co., Ltd. held a limited-edition lucky bag promotion activity in which the raffling method made it impossible for all raffle ticket numbers to have the chance to win a prize. The practice was a false and misleading representation with regard to product and could also affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$50,000 on the company.
4. When marketing the “Changyao Yipin (transliteration)” housing project, Shiyuan (transliteration) Construction Co., Ltd., Great General Creative Advertising Co., Ltd. and Lipeng (transliteration) Asset Co., Ltd. posted text and photos of a reading room and a KTV room” in the advertising brochures provided at the reception center. The practice was a false and misleading representation with regard to content and use of product and could also affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed administrative fines of NT$1 million, NT$800,000 and NT$500,000 on the three companies, respectively.
5. Motostar Co., Ltd. posted on its website and in its product catalog the wording “German bike lock ABUS…Taiwan general agent Motostar Co., Ltd.” It was a false and misleading representation with regard to content of product and could also affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. In addition to ordering the company to immediately cease the unlawful act, the FTC also imposed on it an administrative fine of NT$50,000.
6. Early Infinity (Taiwan) Pte Ltd. and Ju Yao International Development Co., Ltd. brought in multi-level marketing schemes and structures of foreign multi-level marketing businesses without filing with the FTC in advance. The conduct was in violation of Article 6 (1) of the Multi-level Marketing Supervision Act. In addition to ordering the two companies to immediately cease the unlawful act, the FTC also imposed administrative fines of NT$1.5 million and NT$1 million on them, respectively.
