  1. Agoda Company Pte. Ltd. used the name of a competitor in a keyword advertisement and also displayed the wording of "Travel Easy" and the URL of Agoda. The practice was in violation of Article 25 of the Fair Trade Act because it was obviously unfair conduct exploiting the effort and achievement of another and also able to affect trading order. Therefore, the FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$1 million on the company.
  2. When marketing its BenQ C32-300 monitors, BenQ Asia Pacific Corp. posted on its website the wording "Awarded the National Energy Label". It was a false and misleading representation with regard to quality of product and could also affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$100,000 on the company.
  3. When marketing an "Orange Home (transliteration) micro-fiber kitchen water absorption pad" product on the PChome Online 24h shopping platform, PChome Online Inc. and Jing Ne (transliteration) posted the claim "Place of origin: Taiwan" and "Made in Taiwan." It was a false and misleading representation with regard to place of origin of product and could also affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed administrative fines of NT$100,000 and 50,000 on the two companies, respectively.
  4. When marketing a "Uah cat litter box smart companion (for deodorization) on quickbuy.com.tw, SoldoutSoon Digital Marketing Co., Ltd. claimed in the advertisement that the product was "the second generation," "the endurance of the lithium battery increased by 50%," "the built-in lithium battery has been upgraded to 4000mAh and is capable of lasting 8 days" and "400mAh super-large capacity." The wording was a false and misleading representation able to affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$50,000 on the company.
  5. When marketing its Horia brand sofas, Horia Co., Ltd. posted on its website the wording of "Horia—an authoritative brand in Taiwan for nearly 30 years," "Horia founded nearly 30 years ago," "the only brand in Taiwan passing sofa, foam, wood, fabric, spray adhesive and structure safety tests," "Valencia vinyl—the only one passing the tests conducted by SGS," "passing the SGS high pressure endurance test of putting a weight of 100kg on the sofa 100,000 times without it collapsing or getting damaged," and "raw materials used to produce non-toxic MDI environmental foam to replace TDI foam which could emit toxic gases." The claim was a false and misleading representation with regard to quality and production process and could also affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$700,000 on the company.
