  1. Xin An (transliteration) Enterprise Co., Ltd. adopted the pretext of giving accident-prevention presentations and free prizes to attract people with no intention of making purchases to attend such presentations where the company made untruthful statements regarding product prices. After that the company’s sales personnel followed people home and pushed them to buy the company’s products. The marketing practice was deceptive and obviously unfair conduct able to affect trading order in violation of Article 25 of the Fair Trade Act. In addition to ordering the company to immediately cease the unlawful act, the FTC also imposed on it an administrative fine of NT$800,000.
  2. Da Tong (transliteration) Water Purifier Co., Ltd. held raffles to attract consumers and obtain their personal information. Then, the company announced the prize winners but concealed important trading information to mislead consumers into making purchases. The overall marketing practice was deceptive and obviously unfair conduct able to affect trading order in violation of Article 25 of the Fair Trade Act. Therefore, the FTC ordered the company to immediately cease the unlawful act and also imposed on it an administrative fine of NT$150,000.
  3.  The advertisement posted by Online Technology Co., Ltd. and Cheng Kai (transliteration) Enterprise Co., Ltd. on 123.com.tw for “baby car safety seat straps” was a false, untrue and misleading representation with regard to operating method and use of product in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$50,000 on each company.
  4.  When marketing the “Happiness My Home (translation) No. 2” housing project, Quan Mao (transliteration) Construction Co., Ltd. and Yi Fu (transliteration) Advertising Co., Ltd. used dotted lines to mark the machine room and storage room on the floor plans as part of the bedroom space. It was a false, untrue and misleading representation with regard to use and content of product in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed administrative fines of NT$150,000 and NT$100,000 on the two companies, respectively.
  5.  WorldVentures Co. Ltd. violated Article 6 (1) of the Multi-level Marketing Supervision Act by holding activities associated with the multi-level marketing schemes and structures of WorldVentures Marketing, LLC from United States and six other foreign multi-level marketing businesses and posting corresponding advertisements on its website without filing with the FTC in advance. The company also violated Article 7 (1) of the Fair Trade Act for failing to file with the FTC before starting its multi-level marketing operations and changing its sales system, participation requirements, products, and services. In addition to ordering the company to immediately cease the (1) unlawful act and file the changes made to its sales system, participation requirements, products, and services within 10 days after receiving the disposition, the FTC also imposed an administrative fine of NT$2 million on the company.
  6. Nanyuan Construction Development Co., Ltd. adopted language normally used for residential homes in an advertisement for its “Yin Xiang Xi Hu (transliteration)” housing project. It was a false, untrue and misleading representation with regard to use of product in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$600,000 on the company.
  7. The Energy Label and wording posted by U-Life Co., Ltd. and Twins Inc. on u-mall.com. to market “JTL water heaters JT-5602 and JT-5216” were a false, untrue and misleading representation with regard to quality of product in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$50,000 on each company.
  8. In an online advertisement for its “Da Xue Xin Cheng (transliteration)” housing project, Ri Yue (transliteration) Development Co., Ltd. marked the balconies in the “A6 layout,” “A7 layout” and “C and D layouts” as part of the interior space. It was a false, untrue and misleading representation with regard to content and use of product in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$100,000 on the company.
  9. When marketing its “Xian Dai Jin Dian (transliteration)” housing project, Cheng Sheng Fa Construction Co., Ltd. used dotted lines to mark the machine rooms and balconies on the floor plans as part of the space for bedrooms and kitchens. It was a false, untrue and misleading representation with regard to use and content of product in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$100,000 on the company.
  10.  The advertisement posted on Yahoo! Kimo Shopping Mall by Yahoo! Taiwan and Kang Chu Home Life for the “Sakura SH-1220RSK(LPG/RF) 12L outdoor water heater with a battery level indicator” and “Sakura SH-1220RSK(NG1/RF) 12L outdoor water heater with a battery level indicator” was a false, untrue and misleading representation with regard to quality of product in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$50,000 on each company.
  11.  When marketing tickets for the “Japanese Gourmet Food Show,” Jun Tai (transliteration) Technology Co., Ltd., ERA Communications Inc., GOMAJI Co., Ltd., Kan Tai (transliteration) Digital Integration Co., Ltd. and GROUPON Taiwan posted an advertisement claiming that coupons worth NT$500 would be given as gifts to ticket buyers, but failed to disclose the conditions for use of the coupons. It was a false, untrue and misleading representation with regard to content of service in violation of Article 21 (4) in applying mutatis mutandis Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed administrative fines of NT$100,000, 80,000, 50,000, 50,000 and 50,000 on the five companies, respectively.
  12. PChome online and Taiwan Mobile Sterilization Technology Ltd. posted on the PChome Online shopping website an advertisement for the “TWMST 99.9% sterilizing nano silicon-zinc screen protection film for Xiaomi and Hongmi Note cell phones” and claimed that “the sterilizing effect of products tested by SGS is able to last five years.” The wording was a false, untrue and misleading representation with regard to quality of product in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$50,000 on each company.
  13. TraNews Co., Ltd., a multi-level marketing business, did not file with the FTC before changing its sales system. The conduct was in violation of Article 7 (1) of the Multi-level Marketing Supervision Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$50,000 on the company.
