  1. When marketing the presale homes of the “Qing Tian Hui (transliteration)” housing project, He Rui (transliteration) Construction Co., Ltd. and Xin Rui Feng (transliteration) Advertising Co., Ltd. requested that homebuyers pay a deposit or a certain fee to see the presale home purchase contract. The practice was obviously unfair conduct able to affect trading order and therefore in violation of Article 25 of the Fair Trade Act. In addition to ordering the two companies to immediately cease the unlawful act, the FTC respectively imposed on them administrative fines of NT$500,000 and NT$250,000.
  2. In an advertisement for the “X-Bike magnetic exercise bicycle”, Performance X-Bike Co., Ltd., PChome Store Co., Ltd., Fubon Multimedia Technology Co., Ltd. and Far Eastern Electronic Commerce Co., Ltd. posted the claim that the product had been awarded the “Certificate of Grant of Patent No. 194051 and Certificate of Grant of Patent No. 342183 (Technical Class 6)” while the packaging of the product also carried the wording “Certificate of Grant of Patent No. 342183, counterfeiting not allowed” and “Certificate of Grant of Patent No. 194051, counterfeiting not allowed”. The conduct was a false, untrue and misleading representation with regard to quality of product in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC respectively imposed on the companies administrative fines of NT$100,000, NT$50,000, NT$50,000, and NT$50,000.
  3. In an advertisement for the “Wen Hua Shang (transliteration)” housing project, Li Qi (transliteration) Construction Co., Ltd. claimed there would be a garden, a fountain and a pavilion and also posted pictures of the said facilities which were located in a designated agricultural zone. The conduct was a false, untrue and misleading representation with regard to quality of product in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$400,000 on the company.
  4. When marketing tire pressure sensors, New Focus Auto Service Co., Ltd. claimed that “the Ministry of Transportation and Communications has made it mandatory that every new passenger car shall be equipped with a tire pressure sensor since November 2014 and the policy will be expanded to all the old and new passenger cars be equipped with a tire pressure sensor in July 2016” which was a false, untrue and misleading representation able to affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$300,000 on the company.
  5. In an advertisement posted on momomall.com for the “X-Bike magnetic exercise bicycle”, Chen Long (transliteration) Game-Bike Co., Ltd. claimed that the product had been awarded the “Certificate of Grant of Patent No. 194051 and Certificate of Grant of Patent No. 342183 (Technical Class 6)” while the packaging of the product also carried the wording “Certificate of Grant of Patent No. 342183, counterfeiting not allowed” and “Certificate of Grant of Patent No. 194051, counterfeiting not allowed”. The conduct was a false, untrue and misleading representation with regard to quality of product in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$50,000 on the company.
  6. Jeunesse Taiwan, a multi-level marketing business, violated Article 7 (1) of the Multi-level Marketing Supervision Act by changing its product items and prices without filing with the FTC in advance. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$100,000 on the company.
  7. Mr. A engaged in multi-level marketing but did not register with the FTC before commencing operations. The conduct was in violation of Article 6 (1) of the Multi-level Marketing Supervision Act. In addition to ordering Mr. A to immediately cease the unlawful act and stop his downline participants from further engaging in multi-level marketing activities, the FTC also imposed on him an administrative fine of NT$100,000.
  8. Mr. A and Mr. B engaged in multi-level marketing but did not register with the FTC before commencing operations. The conduct was in violation of Article 6 (1) of the Multi-level Marketing Supervision Act. In addition to ordering Mr. A and Mr. B to immediately cease the unlawful act and stop their downline participants from further engaging in multi-level marketing activities, the FTC also imposed on them administrative fines of NT$300,000 and NT$150,000, respectively.
  9. The advertisement for EasyCard purchases via telephone posted by EasyCard Corporation was a false, untrue and misleading representation with regard to quantity of product in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC ordered the company to immediately cease the unlawful act and also imposed on it an administrative fine of NT$500,000.
