  1. Cool Play Online (translation) Co., Ltd. used its competitor’s business symbols, including game platform and game names, in keyword advertising and also displayed them together with its own business symbols. The practice was obviously unfair conduct able to affect trading order in violation of Article 25 of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$100,000 on the company.

Advantage Navigator (translation) Technology Co., Ltd. used its competitor’s business symbols, including company and game platform names, in keyword advertising and also displayed them together with its own business symbols to exploit the results of its competitor’s efforts. It was obviously unfair conduct able to affect trading order in violation of Article 25 of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$300,000 on the company.
  3. Ho Shih Tsao Enterprise Co., Ltd. and 16 other human resources agencies established a mutual understanding and started to collect fees from fishing boat owners hiring foreign fishermen. The practice was in violation of Article 14 (1) of the Fair Trade Act at the time of the conduct. The FTC imposed administrative fines on them that totaled NT$2.19 million.
  4. When marketing wireless tire pressure detectors, Kuai 3 e-Commerce Service Co., Ltd. claimed that “starting in Aug. 2016, all old and new cars are required to have such devices installed.” It was a false, untrue and misleading representation likely to affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$100,000 on the company.
  5. When marketing the “Purple Diamond King (translation)” electric kettle on Yahoo! Kimo Super Mall, Meng Ba Sa (transliteration) e-Commerce Co., Ltd. claimed that “The stainless steel household product is double-insulated for scald protection and able to shut down automatically. The inner container is stainless, well secured and designed for scald protection and the outer layer will be around 35 degrees Celsius even when the water inside is boiling,” and pictures of the double-layered design of the inner container were also shown. However, it was a false, untrue and misleading representation with regard to quality and content of product in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$50,000 on the company.
  6. When marketing the “Shui Shu Yun Feng (transliteration)” housing project, Jing Tang (transliteration) Construction Co., Ltd. used dotted lines to mark the balconies on the floor plans for the units with “5 bedrooms, one dining room, one living room and 4 bathrooms” and the units with “5 bedrooms, one dining room, one living room and 5 bathrooms” on the first floor, third floor and fourth floor as part the bedroom, kitchen, or bathroom space. It was a false, untrue and misleading representation with regard to content and use of product and able to affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$250,000 on the company.
  7. In an advertisement for the “Pulli Tao Xi (transliteration)” housing project, Pulli Construction Co., Ltd. and Zhu Feng (transliteration) Development Co., Ltd. marked the balconies as part of the interior space. It was a false, untrue and misleading representation with regard to content and use of product and able to affect transaction decisions. The FTC imposed administrative fines of NT$300,000 and NT$200,000 on the two companies, respectively.
  8. Trust and Ethic Co., Ltd., a multi-level marketing business, changed its product items without filing with the FTC in advance. The conduct was in violation of Article 7 (1) of the Multi-level Marketing Supervision Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$50,000 on the company.
  9. NuCerity International Taiwan Branch, a multi-level marketing business, violated (1) Article 7 (1) of the Multi-level Marketing Supervision Act by changing its sales system without filing with the FTC in advance and (2) Article 16 (2) of the same act by recruiting people with limited capacity for civil conduct to be participants without acquiring the written consent of their legal representatives and attaching the consent to the participation contract. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$300,000 on the company.
  10. When marketing the “Sampo SK-FH12T 12-inch mechanical standing fan with a timer” on PChome Online 24h Shopping Mall, PChome Online Inc. and CREATA Enterprise Co., Ltd. claimed the product had been awarded the “Energy Label”. It was a false, untrue and misleading representation with regard to quality of product and able to affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$50,000 on each company. 
  11. Zhan Cheng Consultancy Co., Ltd. posted on its website the wording of “Zhan Cheng Consultancy is able to help businesses to apply and acquire the NT$2.4 million SBIR (biotech category) subsidy.” It was a false, untrue and misleading representation with regard to content of service and able to affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (4) in applying mutatis mutandis Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$50,000 on the company.
  12. Mr. A used language and pictures normally applied to residential homes to advertise the units of the “Le Yun Zhung Yuan (transliteration)” countryside villas that were located in a hillside area designated for agricultural conservation purposes. It was a false, untrue and misleading representation with regard to content and use of product and able to affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Law. The FTC imposed on him an administrative fine of NT$2 million.
  13. When marketing the plantation in “Half Acre Field (translation) II” on the 591.com.tw website, Mr. A posted the following claim: “community management, utilities, roads and Internet connection all provided, plus a cabin, a greenhouse and a Canadian-style material room…security guaranteed,” “independent and safe community” and “access controlled to ensure community security,” and photos of the cabin and a pavilion were also displayed. It was a false, untrue and misleading representation able to affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed on him an administrative fine of NT$300,000.
  14. When marketing the “Shui Mu Wu Tong” housing project, Hua Chen Construction Co., Ltd. marked part of the parking space in the first-level basement on the plans for A1-A7 and B2-B8 buildings as part of the living room space. It was a false, untrue and misleading representation with regard to content and use of product and able to affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$300,000 on the company.
  15. When marketing the “Tie Jiang Jun (transliteration) TP-75P car cigarette lighter-shaped tire pressure monitoring system, PChome Online Inc. and Chufon Technology Co., Ltd. posted the claim that “Starting in Nov. 2014, all new cars have to be equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system and every car must be equipped with a tire pressure monitoring alarm beginning on Jul. 1, 2016.” It was a false, untrue and misleading representation able to affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$50,000 on each company.
  16. When marketing the “Hollywood T6 wireless tire pressure sensor (inside the tire)”. PChome Online Inc. and Ya Xin (transliteration) Digital Co., Ltd. posted the claim that “Starting in Nov. 2014, all new cars have to be equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system and every car must be equipped with a tire pressure monitoring alarm beginning on Jul. 1, 2016.” It was a false, untrue and misleading representation able to affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$50,000 on each company.
  17. When marketing the CACS T8 wireless 4-wheel tire pressure monitoring system, PChome Online Inc. and Skylook International Co., Ltd. posted the claim that “Starting in Nov. 2014, all new cars have to be equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system and every car must be equipped with a tire pressure monitoring alarm beginning on Jul. 1, 2016.” It was a false, untrue and misleading representation able to affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed administrative fines of NT$50,000 on each company.
  18. MYTROM Co., Ltd., a multi-level marketing business, violated Article 6 (1) of the Multi-level Marketing Supervision Act for failing to file with the FTC before beginning operation. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$100,000 on the company,
  19. iVegan Mart, a multi-level marketing business, violated Article 7 (1) of the Multi-level Marketing Supervision Act for failing to file with the FTC before changing its sales system. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$50,000 on the company.
