  1. Chunghwa Telecom and Taiwan Mobile simultaneously canceled the special offers "monthly domestic call rate NT$666 for the first six months" and "intra-network voice calls free of charge" for the cell phone plans of the "special mobile broadband 4G plan without speed reduction (699H or 699)" and "new special cell phone plan (monthly rate NT$699)" on Oct. 1, 2018. The conduct was in violation of Article 15 of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed administrative fines of NT$40 million and NT$36 million on the two companies, respectively.
  2. The Galvanizing Association of Taiwan posted a list of suggested galvanizing process prices in the hot dip galvanizing magazine that it published and also restricted the pricing of association members. The practice violated the regulation against concerted actions set forth in Paragraph 1 of Article 15 of the Fair Trade Act because it was able to affect the supply-demand function in the market. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$100,000 on the association.
  3. Two people respectively surnamed Cai and Chen set up Quansheng (transliteration) Gas Equipment and Engineering Company in the name of an individual surnamed Zhang and used service notices, uniforms and worker IDs to mislead people into thinking that the company's workers were employees of the local natural gas utility enterprise and allow the workers to enter their homes. Then the workers used the excuse of performing safety inspections to sell gas safety devices. The practice was deceptive conduct able to affect trading order. It was in violation of Article 25 of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$100,000 on each of the three people.
  4. Tao (transliteration) Purchasing Agent Station posted the text "receive and ride the bike" and also a license plate carrying a conformity label on ruten.com to market electric (auxiliary function) bicycles. The practice was a false and misleading representation with regard to quality of product and could also affect transaction decisions in violation of Paragraph 1 of Article 21 of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$100,000 on the operator.
  5. When marketing hot suits, sweatpants, yoga pants, jogging suits, fat-burning slimming girdles, postpartum slimming clothes and other products on shopee.com, Daxia (transliteration) Inn Dining Marketing Enterprise Company posted the wording "fat-burning and slimming" and "only half the amount of exercise needed to release five times the amount of sweat" in advertisements. The claim was a false and misleading representation with regard to quality of product and could also affect transaction decisions in violation of Paragraph 1 of Article 21 of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$100,000 on the company.
  6. When marketing the "MapleStory" online game, Gamania Digital Entertainment held a "Lucky Treasure Box" activity and posted a list of probabilities of winning the bonus – Core Gemstone. The practice was a false and misleading representation with regard to content of service and could also affect transaction decisions. It was in violation of Paragraph 4 of Article 21 of the Fair Trade Act and Paragraph 1 of the same article was applicable mutatis mutandis. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$2 million on the company.
  7. Raotian (transliteration) Slimming and Beauty Services Workshop posted advertisements on the Facebook wall of "Daily Magic Show Sanchong Zhongxiao Shop" and claimed "20 minutes each time to lose one kilogram a day," "no dieting or exercise needed" and "lying down to become slimmer." The wording was a false and misleading representation with regard to quality of service and could also affect transaction decisions. It was in violation of Paragraph 4 of Article 21 of the Fair Trade Act and Paragraph 1 of the same article was applicable mutatis mutandis. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$100,000 on the workshop operator.
  8. When marketing products of the Colorful Clothing series on the Internet, iROO International Co., Ltd. posted the claim "noticeable sun-screening effects...UPF50+masks to fight skin darkening at any time." It was a false and misleading representation with regard to quality of product and could also affect transaction decisions in violation of Paragraph 1 of Article 21 of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$100,000 on the company.
  9. When marketing the WF211Q MIT Energy Label double certification Qlife 12-inch DC energy-saving industrial grade black wall mounted fan with remote control on PChome24h, PChome Online Inc. and Quality Life International Co., Ltd. posted the Energy Label in the advertisement. The practice was a false and misleading representation with regard to quality of product and could also affect transaction decisions in violation of Paragraph 1 of Article 21 of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$80,000 on each company.
