  1. The Chinese Union of Professional Civil Engineers Association and National Council of Structural Engineers Associations, R.O.C. (Taiwan) jointly adjusted the charges for the issuance of quake-resistance design labels and quake-resistant building labels. The practice was able to affect the supply-demand function in the relevant market and was in violation of the regulation against concerted actions set forth in Article 15 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed administrative fines of NT$600,000 and NT$400,000 on the two organizations, respectively.
  2. The Chinese Union of Professional Civil Engineers Association and National Council of Structural Engineers Associations, R.O.C. (Taiwan) and 14 other enterprises and organizations jointly decided to raise the charges for the quake-resistance evaluation of private buildings. The practice was able to affect the supply-demand function in the relevant market and was in violation of the regulation against concerted actions set forth in Article 15 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed administrative fines ranging from NT$200,000 to NT$600,000 on the offenders.
  3. When marketing an "EA-R65 electric bicycle with disc brakes as well as front and back shock absorbers" on Yahoo.com, Yahoo! Taiwan Holdings Limited, Taiwan Branch (H.K.) and Sin Chang Hung Industry Co., Ltd. posted a Red Lightning Qualification Label and an Electric Bicycle Inspection Qualification Label. The practice was in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC issued a warning letter to remind both companies to pay attention to related regulations in the Fair Trade Act in order not to break the law.
  4. When marketing a Hitachi 12kg stand-up inverter floatation washer on rakuten.com, Chilong Appliances Enterprise Co., Ltd. advertised the product as "passing the National Energy-saving Certification." The claim was in violation of Article 21 of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC issued a warning letter to remind the company to pay attention to related regulations in the Fair Trade Act in order not to break the law.
  5. When marketing a French-made yeep.me 85W electric scooter on momo.com, Fubon Multimedia Technology Co., Ltd. and AIBOX Co., Ltd. posted the wording "the only one in Taiwan with a 2-year warranty" and "2-year warranty: the only electric scooter in Taiwan with a 2-year warranty." The claim was a false and misleading representation with regard to quality of product and could also affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$50,000 on each company.
  6. When marketing a "Point DF-168 electric blackboard eraser (electric suction) with a silent motor, eraser cleaner, micro-motion switch and temperature-sensor for safety to remove chalk dust and clean the blackboard" on momo.com, Fubon Multimedia Technology Co., Ltd. and Correcta Design and Marketing Co., Ltd. claimed "the motor has a built-in temperature-sensing device and is the only one in the industry able to cut the power when detecting motor overheating." The wording was a false and misleading representation with regard to quality of product and could also affect transaction decisions in violation of Article 21 (1) of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$50,000 on each company.
  7. Kuanyue (transliteration) Realty Co., Ltd. posted advertisements on 591.com to market housing units and claimed "collaborating with Chinatrust on contract performance guarantee: the only realtor in Taiwan signing an escrow agreement with a financial holding company." The wording was a false and misleading representation with regard to quality of service and could also affect transaction decisions in violation of Paragraph 4 of Article 21 of the Fair Trade Act and Paragraph 1 of the same Article was applicable mutatis mutandis. The FTC imposed an administrative fine of NT$100,000 on the company.
  8. Yung Ching Rehouse Co. posted on its website the wording "Yung Ching Rehouse performance reaching a new high, deal-closing rate soaring to 45% in 2020" and also distributed in Daan, Tucheng and Xindian Districts flyers carrying the text "Yung Ching Rehouse deal-closing rate in 2020 achieving 45%." The claim was a false and misleading representation with regard to quality of service and could also affect transaction decisions in violation of Paragraph 4 of Article 21 and Paragraph 1 of the same article was applicable mutatis mutandis. In addition to ordering the company to immediately cease the unlawful act, the FTC also imposed on it an administrative fine of NT$1.5 million.
