decisions to set fee-charging standards
The FTC received reports that the Chinese Union of Professional Civil Engineers’ Associations (hereinafter referred to as CUPCEA) and the National Council of Structural              fee-charging standards for structure accreditation service and evaluation of shock resistance capacity. They made the decision to collect uniform charges and established the fee-charging standards.
                          in Mar. of the same year to revise structure accreditation charges and sent the results to                            engineers’ associations in Taiwan Province, Taipei City and New Taipei City jointly adjusted the charges for the Evaluation of the Structural Safety of Urban Dangerous and Old Buildings               decided in a council meeting to revise the initial evaluation service charges and establish the fee-charging standards for the Inspection and Certification of Public Safety and Shock Resistance Capacity of Buildings and informed its members to follow. The above-mentioned practices were all concerted actions forbidden by the Fair Trade Act.
After assessing the levels of involvement, the FTC imposed fines ranging between NT$200,000 and NT$600,000 on the associations and also reminded trade associations and business groups to
refrain from engaging
in discussions about
setting uniform fee-
charging standards in
order not to break the
law.
