    4. Cracking down on false advertising
(1) Law enforcement focusing on key issues to stop false advertising
Being closely associated with people’s daily lives, false advertising cases account for a large proportion of the reported cases that the FTC receives and active efforts are made to cope with such cases. In 2024, the FTC investigated 54 false advertising cases and issued                                         businesses for false advertising was the highest.
Among the false advertising cases cracked down upon in recent years, online advertising formed the largest proportion. In 2024, the FTC continued to implement its false advertising monitoring project and paid
attention to topical online advertisements
that drew heated discussions in the media.
As soon as illegality was suspected, the FTC
      
the authenticity of the advertisements. When
finding out during the investigation that a
certain false advertising case belonged to
the jurisdiction of another agency, the FTC
would transfer the case to the competent
authority.
