first place in the SNQ (Symbol of National Quality) Epidemic Prevention Category in three consecutive years” on the Internet and their Facebook walls. The claim was false and the practice was in violation of Article 21 of the Fair Trade Act. The FTC imposed fines of NT$500,000 on ible Technology, NT$100,000 on Star Tree International Ltd., Shuiyunzai Co., Shuangzheng Co. and the the FTC had imposed fines on group buying businesses.
3. Beauty businesses adopting illegitimate means to market beauty products
The FTC received complaints transferred from Pingtung County Government accusing Yuzhi Enterprise Co. (Gebadon Cosmetics) of using illegitimate means to market beauty products. Meanwhile, the FTC also found out that the person in charge of Yuzhi Enterprise Co., surnamed Huang, also managed Huangyu Enterprise Co. which sold similar products and marketed them by using the same approach. Therefore, the FTC investigated both cases at the same time.
The investigation revealed that the marketing approaches of Yuzhi Enterprise Co. and Huangyu Enterprise Co. included 1)
harassing and forcing consumers to make hasty transaction decisions under pressure while they were receiving facial services, 2) concealing the important information that the objects being transacted were products to mislead consumers into believing that facial skin care was take over and consumers had to sign a promissory note to take the legal responsibility, and 4) using excuses to unpack products to impede consumers from exercising their right to return the goods.
