Enhancing International Cooperation in the Fight against Cartels
The Taiwan Fair Trade Commission invites you to the 2014 International Competition Network (ICN) Cartel Workshop, which will be held at the Grand Hotel in Taipei, Taiwan, from October 1 to 3, 2014, with a welcome reception on 30 September.
The 2014 Cartel Workshop will be the 11th annual workshop hosted under ICN auspices, and is a continuation of the series of agency-led conferences that began in 1999. This is the third time that an Asian country will host this important event, with Korea and Japan having previously organised the Workshop in 2005 and 2010 respectively.
During the three-day Workshop, discussions will focus on strategies to enhance international cooperation and the sharing of best practices in the fight against cartels. In view of the increasingly global nature of cartel enforcement, this theme is more pertinent than ever.
Topics for discussion may include practical steps to improve cooperation; best practices with regard to waivers; fine determination; analytical tools for detecting cartels; a real-life case example of international cooperation; and information sharing in cartel investigations.
The Workshop will build on the foundations of global cartel enforcement by highlighting previous Cartel Working Group work products, including the Anti-Cartel Enforcement Manual. The Taiwan Fair Trade Commission looks forward to meeting ICN member
